Technology Health Check
An unbiased read on where your technology actually stands — delivered as a written report and a summary your board can act on. Fixed scope, fixed fee, no obligation to do anything further.
Who it's for
Businesses where something has started to feel wrong and nobody can say precisely what. Dates slipping without a clear cause. Costs rising faster than output. A board asking questions the technology function answers in language nobody else in the room speaks.
It is also the standard first step before a raise. Diligence will ask what the platform costs at ten times the volume, where it breaks, and how hard it would be for someone else to build. Better to have those answers before somebody else finds them.
What we look at
Three things, together rather than separately, because in practice they are the same problem viewed from different seats.
Architecture. What you have built, what it will and will not support, and which decisions are now expensive to reverse. Not a purity review — plenty of ugly systems are entirely fit for purpose.
Delivery. How work gets from an idea to production. Where it queues, where it gets redone, and why the estimates and the outcomes have drifted apart.
Cost. Infrastructure, licensing, vendors and people, mapped against what the business actually gets for them. This is usually where the quickest wins are.
What you get
A written report with findings and evidence, risks ranked by when they bite rather than by abstract severity, and a prioritised list of what to do next in order. Plus a short board-ready summary, because the people who need to approve the spend are rarely the people who will read forty pages.
We will also tell you what is fine. A list of everything wrong is easy to produce and difficult to act on; knowing which parts to leave alone is half the value.
How long it takes
Typically two to four weeks depending on the size of the estate, with a kick-off call, a set of interviews across engineering and the business, access to the code and the numbers where you are comfortable, and a walkthrough of the findings before anything is finalised.
Find out what it would cover for you
Scope and fee depend on the size of the estate. A short call is enough to size both.
If a health check is not what you need, we will say so on the call rather than sell you one.
